According to the developer, this disc will already come with the first five episodes for season 3, as well as access to the following four episodes once they become available for download.Īs for the story, Telltale Games has already revealed a small synopsis of what's to come: "When family is all you have left… how far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. 7 via the special Season Pass Disc for PS4 and Xbox One. But hopefully with some feedback, we can make it work for everyone.Announced via Telltale Games' official blog, the new game will then continue on early next year on Feb. I only tested it myself, so I can't say with absolute certainty that it'll work for everyone. If there's anybody out there that can't view their choices, please try this and tell me whether or not it works. I was thinking of putting this up as a guide on Steam as well, but I'd rather give it a test run on here first to make sure it actually works. For people not using Windows, this would be whatever the equivalent folder is. They should all create a 'Telltale Games' folder located in Documents. Like I said, the game still logs the choices, this file is simply enabling that data to be displayed.įrom what I know, the save data for Telltale's games are always in the same place, regardless of where you got the game from Steam, Epic, or anywhere else. Choices should now appear for you, with no extra work needed. Replace the with whatever your user/computer name is, and you're good to go. prop file for the relationship stats, which is included) inside the S4 folder, and put them in C:\Users\\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead The Final Season So I went ahead and tested it, and lo and behold, it worked.įor Season 3, take the file inside the S3 folder, and put it in C:\Users\\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead - A New Frontier (Season 3)įor Season 4, take the two files (S4 requires a second. It still logs them, but the data isn't able to be displayed.Īfter figuring this out, I had a very simple idea: if you were to drag and drop a choice.prop file from somebody who has it onto a fresh install of the game, the choices should appear correctly. But for newer players- that being anybody who started playing after Telltale's closure in September 2018- the file is no longer created, and thus the game isn't able to show you your choices. This is why older players can still view their choices when they launch the games: they already have the required file. including the initial creation of the choice.prop file. From what I can tell, this file is meant to be updated remotely, IE the Telltale server periodically sends you a new version with more up-to-date stats.Īs a side effect of Telltale's shutdown however, this entire process stopped working. By default, this file is located in Documents\Telltale Games\. It's called choice.prop, and it contains the statistics and strings for all of the choices in the game. You see, there's a particular file that is meant to be generated upon completing an episode. But as it would turn out, the choice statistics are actually stored client-side. Everybody understandably assumed that the issue was server-side a problem that could only be solved on Telltale's end. Up until now, nobody has really had an answer for that, much less a fix for it. Sucks, right? Being able to see your choices is part of the experience, and it worked for Seasons 1 and 2, so why doesn't it work for the last two games?
